To celebrate International Women's Day and our 'Making Women who Made History' collection, Kerry Lord is proud to present a very special doll design: Queen Nefertiti.
A mysterious figure and well known in history as the great royal wife of the Egyptian King Akhenaton, Nefertiti played a prominent role in shaping Egypt's religious beliefs. During her reign, she became emblematic of the perfection of female beauty and her name means 'the beautiful one has come'. The Eyptian queen was given her own temple, and she was depicted in many works of art along with her family. She had six daughters, two of whom went on to become queens of Egypt themselves.
This crochet doll project is based on the Edward's Emporium collection of amigurumi dolls and costumes designed by Kerry Lord. Made using amigurumi crochet techniques, your finished doll will become an heirloom for generations to come.
