The Shamrock's name derives from its Irish roots, translated loosely to mean 'young clover', which often means it is confused with the four-leaf clover. Best known for its role in Irish culture and heritage, the Shamrock is connected to Saint Patrick and is one of the national symbols of Ireland. In Celtic folklore, it's widely believed that the three petals of the Shamrock are imbued with good luck.
