Pedro the Wine Throated Hummingbird is the long-awaited next instalment of birds club, following up the popular and much loved Azula the Indian Roller Bird. For this brand-new design creative director, Kerry Lord has employed the help of TOFT’s newest yarn, Magenta, to recreate the Wine Throated Hummingbird’s bright and vibrant plumage. Kerry has also enlisted a new crochet technique in order to mimic the texture of the Hummingbirds feathered throat. The Gorget (armour that protects the throat) is created by working different height stitches into a series of chains. This technique along with various colour changes makes Pedro a level three, but also makes him very satisfying to complete!
