Imaginist competition TOFT crochet pattern monster

We thought it was about time that we gave you a little back story on our fabulous Ed’s Imaginists design competition that runs quarterly throughout the TOFT calendar.

Kerry Lord initially started the imaginist box as a closed annual subscription back in 2019 , but having proved so successful and popular, in January 2020 TOFT’s Imaginists  became an open competition to all of you creative crocheters out there.

Every three months TOFT’s designer Kerry Lord will set a new colour palette with each new box (available to buy separately rather than as part of a subscription), and your challenge is to design a monster using the pattern components from the Edward's Imaginarium book.

Edward's Imaginarium book provides an almost infinite number of basic and challenging projects to inspire you to create and crochet some of the most fabulous monster projects your brain can conjure up.  Flip through the pages and mix-and-match your monsters body parts. Ignite your creativity and take time to think about what the creatures at the bottom of your garden might look like, visualise the dishevelled hairstyles of the sock monsters who live in your washing machine and let your imagination soar…how would you crochet these monsters?

The heart of our Ed’s Imaginists club is to inspire each other and share in a community celebration of our creativity with the humble double crochet stitch. Let us know what your wildest imagination can conjure up and allow the story in your head come alive as you go along.
