Join Kerry Lord and Thumbelina for a #OnceUponaToft crochetalong
From the 8th to the 19th of June we’ll be crocheting along together on TOFT’s socials and Instagram videos @toft_uk with daily techniques and tips and tricks on personalising Thumbelina or one of her flower fairy friends. Before we begin we’ll share a guide to what pattern pieces we’ll be crocheting each day. You can follow along with Thumbelina’s pattern from chapter two of the book ‘Fairy Tales: Cottage Stories’ or order a separate flower fairy kit or bundle online to receive wool in your choice of colours and a digital pattern.
Browse new Spring and Summer flower fairy designs from Wisteria, Cherry Blossom, Peony, Buttercup, Poppy, Fuchsia and Sunflower, as well as the best-selling Chicory fairy and Thumbelina’s story bundles where you can chose to make as she is born or in her wedding dress.
If you are a beginner crocheter then we’d recommend Thumbelina, the Peony flower fairy or the Cherry Blossom flower fairy kits, or challenge yourself with the one that takes your fancy, knowing you’ll having plenty of support during the crochetlaong.
Choose Skin Tone, Hair Colour, Wing Colour and Costume colours to customise your own fairy and follow along with the CAL for all the guidance on personalisation, hair styles and finishing touches.
You’ll also need a 3mm crochet hook (or your favourite size to achieve standard TOFT DK tension which will be covered in the first days of the CAL). You can purchase stuffing, scissors and wool needles from our haberdashery or use what you have at home already.
We can’t wait to fly amongst the flowers with these fairies and take you along for the adventure! Remember to share your progress and finished projects with the hashtag #onceuponatoft
