TOFT have been designing and manufacturing luxury yarns since 2006. Edward’s Menagerie, Alexandra’s Garden and TOFT collections of crochet and knitwear have always all been crocheted entirely in our yarn. TOFT yarns are premium quality, natural fibres manufactured to a distinctive specification here in the UK.

Our 12 natural coloured yarns are available in 4 different weights – Fine, Double Knit (DK), Aran and Chunky. The 22 colours in our bright spectrum are available in 25g DK balls and are designed to be complimentary highlights for your projects, perfectly combining with the natural spectrum. Additionally we spin an overdyed Black available in DK that is great for adding finishing details and for use in projects that require extra depth.

TOFT’s yarn range reflects the natural shades of alpaca from which the brand was born, but now with the massive advantage of scalability that dyed sheep’s wool brings which means we can now hold stock of all the colours and weights regardless of the season or availability. TOFT colours are all fibre dyed and then spun to ensure unique complexity and depth to our natural and bright colour range. Our greys are blended from black and natural unbleached cream to give them subtlety and our bright and pastel shades are all spun from solid dyed fibres to create true depth in every shade and beautiful stitch definition.

The natural TOFT colours inspired the creation of the Edward’s Menagerie range of crochet animal patterns in 2012, and then it was with the design of the first birds in 2015 that we introduced the first brighter colours. This range gradually expanded, and in 2023 Alexandra’s Garden introduced the ten new shades of pastels and deep earthy tones that complete the spectrum.

Whatever you are knitting or crocheting there’s nothing more versatile than the natural undyed cream of sheep’s wool. There’s no TOFT project more perfect than crocheting a sheep from our pure natural luxury wool - and believe it or not there’s 25 sheep breed patterns to choose from!
