TOFT are very proud to present a 15th Birthday collection, brought together by revisiting and perfecting our most iconic and favourite designs from the last decade and a half. These patterns helped shape TOFT into the company it is today, each one causing a twist and turn on our path to 2021. These patterns follow our journey from the very early ready-to-wear collections through to the first creation of Edward’s Menagerie and to a brand new pattern that celebrates this year and the future.
The Mae Jumper is a fantastic design to wear day in and day out, and this year we have reworked the design to make it available in sizing for all the family! Classic and comfy, this pattern is a must have knit project from TOFT’s fashion-led range of knitted accessories. The adult version of this jumper design was first available in 2010.
“When I first learned to knit I was most spurred on in mastering a new technique when there was something specific I wanted to wear. I genuinely wore my own handiwork day-in-day-out so that I was constantly learning more about designing shapes and textures that would last and wear well – and the ‘Beginner Jumper’ as it was formerly named was just that. Brought into 2021 with the removal of bell-sleeves and addition of sizes from newborn up to UK 28 it has a classic shape that suits all and will be a proper wardrobe staple for dozens of winters to come. This is the first garment I ever tackled, and still remains my personal favourite and best-selling design. Sometimes you just get it right the first time!”
A fantastic choice for a beginner looking to master a new technique, the Mae jumper is made using TOFT's pure wool range of seriously luxurious yarn spun in Yorkshire from the finest fleeces. Our pure wool yarns are versatile and can be used for most knitting and crochet patterns creating wonderful garments for adults and children, and a full range of accessories.

YOU WILL NEED: To complete TOFT’s child's Mae Jumper pattern you will need a few added extras, including a 4mm circular knitting needle, stitch marker and a wool needle. Go to our recommended section below to get direct links to these products.
