Kerry and the team here at TOFT are always looking for the next opportunity to keep crafting new and exciting, and banish those thoughts of lacy doilies at your nan’s dinner table whenever you think of crochet. Introducing the brand new Edward’s Gourmet Crochet range, which is certainly as far removed from dull as you can get!

These innovative new creations in 6 different designs each contain 50g TOFT DK yarn and the printed recipe pattern for making a type of seafood in a variety of skill levels including sardines, mussels, mackerels, prawns, scallops and snails, packaged in a novelty ring pull tin can - decorated to replicate any can of food you’d pick up from the corner shop. These tins are now available on both of our websites - each tin retails for £16 or encourage your inner chef and pick up all 6 for £90. We’re also offering a free pdf pattern for a lemon (also available as a project separately) with the purchase with any tin can this week, because it’s not gourmet without the finishing touches!

These new kits are the perfect gift for the foodie who can’t get enough of the finer things in life, or ideal for encouraging a newbie to pick up a crochet hook and whip up a sardine or two in an evening, especially as there’s full tutorial support available on the websites covering both the older and new techniques introduced. The possibilities for your finished sea food items are endless, and the team have had lots of fun experimenting over the past week or so. Whether you want to pop your prawns on a skewer, make yarn spaghetti for your mussels or the pocket-sized fish are great for little hands to play with - we cannot wait to see your creative snaps popping up on the #gourmetcrochet hashtag on social media.

Let’s not forget to mention Joanna the Lobster sneaking in! Available in either ‘cooked’ (Orange) or ‘uncooked’ (Steel), Joanna is a fantastic fun addition to the growing Menagerie, and her tail is assembled in a unique way creating lots of movement, meaning the finished toy is even more appealing! Not to mention she’s a level one animal so she’s suitable for complete beginners. You’ll be able to spot Joanna available as either a project or as a complete kit on both our of websites, and from TOFT Studio.

We’re also bringing you the brand new JUMBO collection of Edward’s animals, with 9 adorable amigurumi creatures brought to life in TOFT Chunky yarn. With favourites such as Orla the Octopus and Kat the Sea Turtle and brand new characters joining the menagerie including Kai the Baby Shark and Jade the Manta-ray, Kerry has re-designed their patterns to come out of just one ball of TOFT Chunky yarn. The JUMBO collection is created especially with beginners to crochet in mind - the thick yarn and big crochet hook makes your stitches easy to see, and you’ll see your project growing before your eyes - in fact these chunky creations take less than 5 hours to make!

Each JUMBO animal is available as either a project with a pdf pattern you can download from your “MY TOFT” area or in our popular complete kit format, or kit out your little one’s nursery with the purchase of the JUMBO bundle and pick up a whopping 720g of TOFT Chunky yarn, and all 9 pdf patterns.

As if that wasn’t enough, Wanda the Frill Necked Lizard in our brand new Batch 000007 is also now available on both of our websites and from TOFT HQ. Wanda is a very eye-catching reptile, with her flashes of autumnal colours, and her fascinating frill even supports itself due to the way it’s constructed. Batch 000007 is the September offering from the talented team at TOFT HQ that hand dye a new colour way each quarter - each batch is proving to be even more popular than the last! Did you know we offer a Dye Club subscription? 4 times a year you’ll receive a mystery box of TOFT Hand Dyed DK yarn and the crochet pattern from Kerry Lord for the colourful creature that inspired the yarn, before it goes on general sale.

Don’t forget, Kerry, Jo and Tash are also at Yarndale in Skipton this weekend! If you’re visiting the show (open from 10am-5:30pm Saturday and 10am-4:30pm Sunday), don’t forget to stop by stand F80 and say hello. They’ll also have all the new products, as well as plenty of yarn, books and tools - don’t miss out on the opportunity to stock up!
