Our 2026 Summer Competition has by far surpassed all years that have come before it and my wildest dreams for what little Dewey the bookworm would inspire #edsbookworm. The quality of the entries both for the concepts, crochet, set dressings and execution of the photography (and stop motion) has been overwhelmingly inspired and brilliant in every way. As a result this year there will be no overall winner. Instead I have awarded six equal gold trophy winners to receive goodie bags, followed by fourteen silver trophy winners. A round 20 for #20yearsoftoft. Some of these winners have LOTS more incredible entires beyond these ones so make sure you find them on Instagram and take a proper look!

The task of judging the competition is becoming impossible because I have truly loved looking through and reading about every single entry of the summer. I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing some of my favourite classics being brought to life with crochet, learned about stories and characters that are new to me and most importantly felt inspired by the words you shared about your relationship with books and reading.

A huge thank you to everyone who made a Dewey this summer. I hope he brought lots of fun, laughter and inspiration into your project bags and homes and started a few conversations about your favourite stories and books. A big congratulations to all the winners, but also to you all, because my shortlist this year was a long, long way from short!!
