Here at TOFT HQ we are busy preparing for our 13th birthday party this weekend, 20-21st July, when we will be hosting our annual TOFTfest celebration. From alpaca halter walking to hand dye taster sessions, it's the perfect opportunity to experience TOFT at its most exciting and celebrate with the whole team.
For 2019 we have chosen a fun fair theme, and we've added a TOFT twist to some favourite games including 'Splat the Rat', 'Hook a Duck' and 'Wheel of Fortune' to get you into the spirit. You can also have a try at the 'Coconut Shy' and a trip down 'Tin Can Alley' among other activities.
We are excited to offer our popular Hand Dye Taster Sessions again this year and will be offering the full range of yarn weights from Fine to Chunky. Simply purchase your yarn in the studio and you'll be taken through the process step by step by a member of the TOFT team. Whether it's a rainbow shell for Howard the Hermit Crab or a bright jumper you have in mind, you'll have a whole range of colours to choose from – and there's even an area for children to have a go (please note hand dye tasters are suitable for ages 3 and up).
Our Learn to Knit and Crochet area will be available all day and open to all ages and abilities. Our team of experts will be on hand to answer any knitting or crochet queries you have, and you'll also be able to get your hands on a kit for TOFT's Summer Competition of Howard the Hermit Crab, where you can learn any new techniques you might need for this.
We hope you've been practising your #edsanimals crochet legs, as the Fastest Leg Crochet Competition will be taking place again each day. Yarn and 3mm hooks will be provided along with the pattern (although you'll be quicker if you've memorised it!) and the winner will be presented with a TOFT certificate to keep.
Our usual coffees and teas will be available during the day along with a selection of alcoholic and soft drinks. We're firing up the BBQ again to offer a range of freshly-made lunch options, including vegetarian and vegan choices, so there’s no need to bring a picnic.
If you don’t have a ticket to this exclusive event, don’t panic! We’ll be sharing all the festivities during the weekend on our usual social media channels, and we’re planning something special for our online customers too!
PLEASE NOTE:
- Entry to TOFTfest is by pre-paid ticket only and we will not be open to the public during the weekend of the 20th and 21st July.
- Please wear comfortable and sensible footwear with a closed toe and heel for our Hand Dye Taster sessions and Alpaca Halter Walking.
- Our Hand Dye Taster Sessions are suitable for over-3s only and under 16s must be under parental supervision.
