It seems as though spring is finally upon us this year, and as we emerge from our winter hibernation we are set for a colourful start to the new season at TOFT. Making the most of our TOFT bright palette, you'll find a vibrant and bold selection of knitting and crochet patterns in our Spring 2021 collection. Whether you're looking for a quick crochet project or something to challenge your knitting skills, you're sure to find a dose of instant gratification here!
Whist planning for the Spring 2021 collection, we found ourselves in the third UK lockdown due to COVID-19 with no option to book a location or model. This certainly got the whole team being creative in entirely different ways – in this case we found inspiration in block colours and creating striking imagery with the projects themselves. We moved the photoshoot inside, set the colour palette and began preparing for a socially distanced day of arranging items under the camera. This transformed the collection into a rainbow of projects, ready to brighten up the dark winter days that were still ahead of us.
The Spring 2021 collection takes the whole TOFT bright palette and dedicates one project to each colour. The beauty of these projects is that you can easily substitute your favourite colour to make any of the designs, whether that is a bright or one of our twelve natural shades. Using colour as a theme has allowed us to experiment with a wide variety of techniques, from mosaic knitting and houndstooth effect crochet to textures that include brioche knitting and crochet ribbing.
The majority of the Spring 2021 projects use less than 100g of DK yarn, which is perfect for stash busting and last-minute gift making. Most of the items can also be made in only a few hours, and we love that sense of achievement that comes from ticking a couple of items off the making list in quick succession. Even the gorgeous Azure Cardigan is made up of smaller crochet granny squares – meaning you can turn a large project into more manageable chunks and make it much more fun (and transportable, too!).
You can get your hands on ten patterns in our TOFT Quarterly Magazine, a showcase of the latest collection. It includes five knitting and five crochet patterns from the collection along with additional TOFT news, articles and – a favourite among fans – our TOFTstagram page that displays some of our favourite makes of the quarter. You can also subscribe to TOFT Quarterly, which allows you to view the new projects before general release and grants you access to a bonus digital collection of subscribers' patterns.
