The new Edward's Menagerie book is launched...

In September 2013 TOFT saw the launch of Edward’s Menagerie, our first ever crochet pattern e-book. After hours of trials, tests and remakes, the first 32 animals in the collection were born.

During the last couple of weeks before the arrival of first son Edward in September 2012, Kerry Lord took hold of a crochet hook and began the creation of Edward’s Menagerie. Over the next year, with a new baby and a full stash of natural yarn for inspiration, the collection came to life. And now the animals not only inhabit the TOFT farm, studio and Kerry’s handbag, but the homes of many customers too.

Since taking the Knitting and Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace by storm, Edward’s Menagerie has gone from strength to strength. Over the past 9 months, we have seen the creation of brand new animals, fallen in love with seasonal specials and taught hundreds of TOFT customers how to crochet during the Making a Pig’s Ear workshops at the farm studio.

It’s fair to say we’re hooked on the whole collection, and we’re not alone, in early 2014 David and Charles publishers were too.

We’re now excited to announce the release of TOFT’s first published paperback book in July 2014. With 40 animal patterns, each with their own individual character, backstory and personal features, the book is certain to please regular TOFT fans and charm newbie crocheters.

TOFT is offering an exclusive collection of 10 new animal patterns, which do not feature in the book, or separately, for free when you pre-order the paperback from us. This supplementary pattern e-book is available as an instant download with your pre-order confirmation.

Is Blake the Orangutan your absolute favourite? Or do you have a soft spot for Martin the Tabby Cat? Or perhaps you would like to know Caitlin the Giraffe?

Join us at the TOFT studio for special Edward’s Menagerie workshops throughout the year for a proper introduction to the characters, and to learn the craft of crochet.

Which animal will you hook first?

Don’t forget to share photos of your creations with us. #edsanimals.
