#026 Clarence the Bat

"Clarence spends most of his waking hours in a hard hat. As a structural engineer he thoroughly enjoys his job hanging around under bridges drinking milky tea and mocking the truck driver who did not know that his trailer was higher than the clearance. He is a collector of expensive Persian rugs, which he uses to make his inadequately heated house a bit more comfortable. You can see your breath in every room with the exception of the large and very ugly conservatory where Clarence sensitively nurses hundreds of plants. When Clarence is not taking them to the local railway museum, his young nephews love nothing more than playing with their favourite uncle’s Venus flytraps." (Kerry Lord, Edward's Menagerie, 2014)
