Less elusive than his real life counterpart, Angelo the Purple Emperor Butterfly has joined the menagerie! His iconic regal purple wings have been captured perfectly in TOFT Amethyst DK and makes the ideal gift for any butterfly enthusiasts in your life. Did you know that the purple emperor butterfly is native to the UK, as well as being the second largest of its kind in the country with males growing as big as a small bird. If you're lucky enough to see one in the wild, they can be found in oak woodland – but this TOFT version won't flutter away once it's found its way into your home.
This cute crochet project forms part of the ever-expanding 'Edward's Menagerie' collection of amigurumi crochet toys designed by Kerry Lord. This amigurumi crochet kit contains our luxurious pure wool DK yarn and an easy-to-follow downloadable pattern with video links for all the techniques.
