With the help of Dewey the Bookworm this year’s Summer Competition will be an inspiring celebration of books and storytelling.
Books take us on journeys to places, times and worlds far away from our everyday, and in TOFT’s 20th year we hope that you’re enjoying our crocheted retellings of some of the world’s most popular stories. Whether you love to get lost in a romance, travel back in time with some history or prefer to escape entirely into a magical realm beyond this one, we’ve got a bookworm to suit everyone.
This Summer we invite you to crochet a bookworm and take a photograph that celebrates a love of books - whether you’re showing off your bookshelf, taking an adventure to the library or feeling creative enough to capture your favourite character from literature. Snap a photo (or video) of your ‘#edsbookworm’ and share it with us on Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok by tagging @toft_uk in the photo or reel and using the hashtag for a chance to win one of five TOFT goodie bags worth over £200 each.
This Mystery Bookworm Kit comes with everything you need to make a design from the mind of Kerry Lord, inspired by the 'Mystery' book genre. Along with yarn, glasses, safety eyes and the perfect length of modelling wire to help you pose your bookworm once complete, you'll also receive a printed 'library card' detailing this year's competition rules. THIS CROCHET KIT CONTAINS: 100g of TOFT's luxury DK pure wool yarn, safety eyes and mini glasses in the following colours, a length of modelling wire and Summer Competition guidelines.

The crochet pattern is provided digitally in .pdf format. You can download this from a link that will appear at the bottom of your order confirmation email and in your MY TOFT library. You can log in and re-download the pattern at your convenience.
YOU WILL NEED: To complete your crochet bookworm you will need a few added extras including a 3mm crochet hook, toy stuffing and a wool needle. Find everything you need in our haberdashery section.
MEASUREMENTS: When finished your bookworm will be approximately 19cm long from front of head to end of tail.
SKILL LEVEL 3: This kit is more suitable for those with some crochet experience.
IT WILL TAKE: Approximately 1-5 hours crochet time.
