“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.” – Maya Angelou
The butterfly symbolically represents change, hope and new beginnings, and crafting provides much-needed mindfulness in a modern lifestyle. This extra special butterfly kit has been designed by Kerry Lord to raise awareness for mental health and fundraise for charities, along with introducing more people to the mindfulness of crochet. In partnership with the Knitting and Stitching Show, you can view the TOFT METAMORPHOSIS exhibition at Alexandra Palace from 6-9 October 2022 where you will also find giant versions of the butterflies in true TOFT style! Alongside this is an interactive part of the exhibition that encourages everyone to learn how to crochet by making a spot, which can then be added to the wings of one of the giant butterflies. Butterfly kits will be available to purchase during the show, and included inside each one you will find an exclusive collectable TOFT embroidered patch designed exclusively for the exhibition. In the spirit of metamorphosis, there is also a pattern for a cocoon to keep your butterfly cosy!
This butterfly forms one of a collection of three, and £3 of every kit sold will be donated to charities YoungMinds and Mind via Work for Good. For those of you who cannot attend the show, you can purchase your kit here, with everything included, on our website!
