Steve the Tapir has been a firm favourite in the menagerie since 2015, helping countless crocheters learn the art of the double crochet stitch. Tapirs are one of the oldest living mammals that walk the Earth, their fossils dating back to around 20 million years ago. While they look more like pigs or anteaters, their closest living relatives are in fact horses, rhinos and zebras.

This soft toy will look at home in the nursery, sitting on the shelf or lovingly gift-wrapped for the loved ones in your life. Once you've finished crocheting Steve the Tapir, you'll be ready to start the next animal in the collection with this addictive new hobby!

This crochet animal kit contains TOFT’s quality pure wool yarn and an easy-to-follow downloadable pattern. There are video links for all the crochet stitches and techniques used in the pattern to get you started and help you complete your toy. The crochet pattern is also provided digitally in .pdf format. You can download this from a link that will appear at the bottom of your order confirmation email and in your MY TOFT library. You can log in and re-download the pattern at your convenience.

MEASUREMENTS: When finished your Tapir will be approximately 26cm tall from feet to top of head.
