2019 Edsanimals Summer Competition
Proudly introducing Howard the Hermit Crab and the launch of the 2019 #edsanimals photography competition: Howard’s House Hunt!
This summer Kerry Lord has set the challenge for you to find Howard a new home. Pick your colours, make your crab, and then get out and about in search of an inventive replacement for Howard’s shell. Snap a photo and share it with @toft_uk for a chance to win a claw-some bundle of TOFT goodies worth over £250!
Hermit crabs are perhaps best know for their trait of salvaging, and then living inside, empty shells that they find along the beach. As the crab grows they require larger shells, so have the habit of frequently moving home throughout their lives - often taking up residence inside driftwood, stones, or even household objects. Where will your hermit crab end up living?
Get your claws on this limited edition kit from
www.toftuk.com to join in the fun! Each kit contains 50g of DK wool in two colours of your choice along with the printed postcard pattern for both Howard the Hermit crab and his shell. All you will need in addition is a 3mm crochet hook and a handful of toy stuffing.
Make sure that you share your photo on Instagram and/or Facebook before midnight on Sunday 8th September using the #howardsnewhome and tag in @toft_uk.
Images in all locations are welcome - it doesn’t matter if you are at home or abroad, inside or outside, at sea or on dry land - the more imaginative the better!
