TOFT dolls Kings Coronation

Celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III with this exciting new pair of dolls from TOFT, inspired by the King's Life Guard in the British Army. Best known for events like the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, these soldiers usually remain steadfast in their positions during the day and take part in ceremonial parades for occasions such as coronations, royal weddings, and funerals.

Both dolls use limited edition 25g DK Gold yarn, and the cavalry guard also contains 25g DK Festive Silver! Perfect for representing the sparkling metallics of real buttons, helmets, belt buckles and chin staps, these stunning limited-edition yarns are spun using our DK standard weight, but with a touch of gold/silver lurex to create a luxury yarn befitting this royal occasion. The Festive Silver was first seen in our Winter 2022 collection, and we've saved the last of it for this, but this is the first time we've used the new sparkling mustard yellow 'Gold'!

Each doll comes with full .pdf pattern instructions, and you can click here to watch our King's Guard video on YouTube which covers specific techniques to help you put the finishing touches to their uniform.

We've loved learning all about these uniforms and the meanings behind each detail, such as the colour and position of a plume, button, or aiguillettes etc. and encourage you to dive into a bit of research if it takes your fancy.
