Albus the Elephant

A very special new design to celebrate 10 years of crochet for TOFT! Back in 2012 Kerry Lord picked up a crochet hook for the first time and sat down to learn the double crochet stitch from a video. Later that day the first Edward's Menagerie animal was complete - Bridget the Elephant. A decade on Kerry has revisited the elephant, this time creating Albus the African elephant with larger more shapely ears, a textured trunk and tusks that fit neatly inside sockets. There is a full YouTube video to accompany the making of Albus which contains all the techniques and also the hack pattern to turn Bridget into Albus (if you already have the original Edward's Menagerie book).

THIS KIT CONTAINS: 125g of TOFT's luxury DK pure wool in the colours of your choice.

The crochet pattern is provided digitally in .pdf format. You can download this from a link that will appear at the bottom of your order confirmation email and in your MY TOFT library. You can log in and re-download the pattern at your convenience.

YOU WILL NEED: To complete your African Elephant you will need a few added extras including a 3mm crochet hook, toy stuffing , Black yarn for facial features and a wool needle. Find everything you need in our haberdashery section or upgrade to a complete kit which includes all of the above!

MEASUREMENTS: When finished your African Elephant will be approximately 26cm tall from feet to top of ears.

SKILL LEVEL 2: This kit is suitable for enthusiastic beginners or those who have crocheted before.

IT WILL TAKE: Approximately 1-5 hours crochet time.
