Erin the Wild European Hamster first appeared in the menagerie as an instalment of TOFT's Conservationists crochet subscription and makes a great pattern for anyone looking to practise their complex colour changing skills.
Wild European Hamsters are one of the most endangered mammals in Europe, predicted to go extinct in the next thirty years if nothing changes. Thankfully there are a number of conservation measures in place across Europe aiming to bring this adorable hamster back from the brink of extinction, hoping to create an ecologically healthy landscape of local food webs and biodiversity across the continent.
TOFT’s Edward’s Menagerie collection is a series of crochet amigurumi toys designed by Kerry Lord. This crochet animal kit contains TOFT’s quality pure wool yarn and an easy-to-follow downloadable pattern. There are video links for all the crochet stitches and techniques used in the pattern to get you started and help you complete your toy.
